11/3 Thought for the day…

Society says that human beings are minors/children until they reach age 18. Thereafter, they’re considered adults.

You have 18 years to shape the remaining 62 years (if they’re lucky enough to live to a ripe old age) of your child’s life.

What are you doing TODAY to teach your children the life skills they’ll need to become a contributing member of society? Life is hard, this world is challenging. Is your child going to be ready?

As a member of society and a future senior citizen who will count on this next generation to be decisive and principled leaders, I’m begging you….stop shielding them from challenge, adversity and failure. Loosen the apron strings.

We’re counting on you [and them].

You can do it – squint a little and picture them as adults next time you look at them. There’s your motivation.

About oneburnedoutmama

Ever so slightly burned out mama. Love kids. Not so much on a few of the parents. Hate folding laundry. Love long stretches of silence. Prefer rain over sun and football over HGTV.
